Joni "Mimi" Aragon

Joni Aragon — known to family simply as Mimi — is the matriarch behind the Aragon family’s generational commitment to real estate, entrepreneurship, and community.

Rod Aragon’s mother and the grandmother of Cole and Rebecca (though she’ll never answer to that title), Joni has been a force in business long before it was common for women to lead. When Rod was just 19 years old and taking his first steps in real estate, it was Joni who became his mentor and advisor — guiding him through his first three years in the industry with the wisdom of someone who had already built something lasting.

For over 20 years, Joni owned and operated Joni’s Coffee Roaster in Marina del Rey, California — an establishment that became a genuine staple of the community. More than a café, it was a gathering place, a neighborhood institution, and a testament to what it looks like to build something with care, consistency, and character over decades.

For Cole, the founder of Era Gone, Mimi represents the original proof of concept: that a person with vision, work ethic, and deep roots in a place can build something that outlasts any single transaction. Her influence runs through every venture Era Gone pursues.
